Dr. Kathy Wilson is Acting President and Vice Chancellor of the University of New Brunswick, bringing more than 30 years of leadership in higher education. Known for her collaborative, people-first approach, she has played a central role in advancing academic innovation, strengthening student experience and building partnerships that support economic growth and entrepreneurship in New Brunswick.

She has led major institutional initiatives in curriculum modernization, technology-enabled learning and strategic academic planning, focusing on preparing graduates for a rapidly evolving workforce and supporting innovation-driven enterprise. As UNB’s inaugural Vice Provost, Learning & Student Experience, she guided bi-campus integration, helped establish the Centre for Learning Futures, and played a key leadership role in guiding the university through the COVID-19 pandemic and institutional transition.

A strong advocate for equity, diversity, inclusion and reconciliation, Dr. Wilson has worked closely with Indigenous partners to advance initiatives such as development of the Wabanaki Learning Centre and the expansion of the Mi’kmaq-Wolastoqey Centre. Her leadership emphasizes cross-sector collaboration to expand opportunity, support entrepreneurship and strengthen New Brunswick’s innovation economy.
