SébSébastien Dupuis has dedicated his entire career to making Assumption Life thrive. Not only does he have a clear vision of where the Company is going, he sees the threads of opportunity throughout the Company, ties them together, and turns them into reality. At the same time, he inspires others to extend their thinking and drives a strong culture of excellence.

As the President and CEO of Assumption Life, he oversees the operations of the multimillion-dollar organization, while advantageously positioning it nationally. He guides Assumption Life’s relentless focus on delivering excellent personalized services and sees that the Company does not deviate from its mission of providing clients with simple and affordable solutions to ensure their financial security.

Sébastien worked his way up the corporate ladder through hard work, initiative and commitment. Respected as a credible business leader, he earns a seat at the table wherever he serves. His leadership skills were highlighted, as he was one of the few Canadians selected to attend the prestigious Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference in 2012. The Conference gathers participants from different backgrounds that have one thing in common: they are high potential individuals expected to achieve senior leadership positions in their organizations and communities.

Sébastien joined Assumption Life in 2001 as a financial analyst and was rapidly promoted to Director of Finance and Chief Risk Officer. In 2015, he became Vice-President, Chief Financial Officer, a position he held until his appointment as President and CEO in January 2019. In addition to his professional commitments, Sébastien gives back to the community wholeheartedly. He currently serves on the board of directors of the CHU Dumont Foundation Hospital, the Friends of the Dr.-Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, the New Brunswick Business Council, the Atlantic Cancer Research Institute and the Go Dieppe community group.

Sébastien is an avid hockey fan. He played three seasons in the QMJHL before joining the Blue Eagles, the University of Moncton’s varsity hockey team in 1995. He has now traded his skates for golf shoes as he developed a passion for golf as a way to stay active and get his mind off his busy daily routine. Sébastien holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Université de Moncton as well as a CPA designation.
