The New Brunswick Business Council (NBBC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Wilson, CEO of The AIL Group of Companies, as Chairman of our organization, replacing Francis McGuire, CEO of Major Drilling. The Chair of the Business Council rotates among its members on an annual basis.
“Mike brings a deep love of New Brunswick and an insatiable appetite for innovation to the Council chair. I’m excited to work with him to deepen the Business Council’s impact in our priority areas.” says Susan Holt, NBBC President and Chief Executive Officer.
The NBBC is focused on 2 things: championing entrepreneurship through New Brunswick’s growing entrepreneurs, and supporting robust economic policy debate and development in New Brunswick. Mr. Wilson is personally passionate about the council’s role as a constructive contributor to economic development conversations. He is also an advocate for industrial research and development investments, and strong partnerships between industry and post-secondary institutions.
“As in-coming chair I’m committed to strengthening relations between business and government,” says Wilson. “I’m confident that the dynamic members of our council can offer new ideas and insights into how we can work together to help our province prosper.”
Mr. Mike Wilson is President of Atlantic Industries Limited (Dorchester, NB) and CEO of the AIL Group of Companies (Sackville, NB). The AIL Group is a world leader in delivering infrastructure solutions through manufacturing plants across North America, and licensees in Australia and Europe. Mr. Wilson is active in research and development and has developed several international patents. Mr. Wilson is a graduate of UNB’s Civil Engineering program and Past President of the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters, New Brunswick Chapter. In 2012 he was named to the JA New Brunswick Business Hall of Fame.
The Council is grateful to Francis McGuire for his tireless two years of service as our Chair.
